🌱🍄✨ Happy March! Join us for our monthly gathering to connect, share, and learn. This month, we are thrilled to welcome Justin McDavid, the current President of Bay Area Applied Mycology (BAAM) for a presentation on inoculation-techniques for intentionally growing log-decomposing fungi outdoors in the challenging Mediterranean climate of Northern California. The presentation will be highly visual, with plenty of examples, cautionary tales, and opportunities for questions/discussion. About Justin: Justin McDavid is a professional designer and tech writer, and also the current President of Bay Area Applied Mycology (https://bayareaappliedmycology.org). His interests in biomimetics, ecology, and sustainability led him to fungi, and he now spends a lot of his time trying to connect others to the beauty and vast potential of the mycological world. He’s interested in developing tools to stave off ecological disaster, and believes that fungi and applied mycology will play outsized roles as we wade deeper into the Anthropocene.
