Details
FarWestFungi Cultivation Mycoloquium is a colloquium style event with a focus on personal to large scale mushroom cultivation for edible, medicinal, remediational, artistic, architectural, and other utilitarian purposes. Emphasis is also on low tech, low overhead non sterile gardener or home tinkerer style methods for hobbyists or to start a small business or to work on large scale projects by simple designs.

The event will take place at Far West Fungi Farm in Moss Landing where the Garrones grow over 10 different types of mushrooms for their SF Ferry Building shop, farmers markets, and West Coast distribution to food outlets. We will have the farm facilities and the expertise of the Garrones and special cultivation participants and guest presenters. Participants will be able to car or tent camp on the grounds of the Far West Fungi Farm

Check in will be at 8-9 on Saturday morning with tours, presentations, and hands on opportunities starting at 9 and continuing all day. After the evening meal we will have a FarWestMycoFermentoMondo late night kitchen cookup shebang modeled after our MycoMendoMondo and MycoSOMAMondo style events where participants can share their own cultivation, culinary, and fermentation experiments in an informal social gathering with libations and taste testings and discussions.

On Sunday we will have morning activities before the start of the 20th Anniversary Far West Fungi Farm Field Trip Pot Luck BBQ from 12-3 where we regularly have 150 people attend.

We hope to make this Far West Fungi Cultivation Mycoloquium an annual event and that will be based upon how well everything works this first time around. This will be similar in ambiance, amenities, and functionality to a mushroom society camping foray, but perhaps a little more upscale since the camping will happen on the grounds of the mushroom farm with its facilities. This event is all about participating and sharing so  waiterly style services aren't to be expected. I'll be your concierge so that can tell you that you'll be expected to help keep things neat and tidy on the hosts' farm and participate in helping to put on a smoothly running event.

Food - Participants will provide their own food which for Saturday would be a sack lunch for noon and potluck sharing for the evening meal and whatever else they wish for snacking or sharing. For Saturday and Sunday mornings the event will provide caffeine and sugar fixes and oatmeal cookup for breakfast. Participants bring their own utensils and oatmeal condiment dolloping.

We have a limited number of participant openings. This a preregistration event with no onsite registration.  Fee for participants is $50 each, for all day Saturday and Sunday, whether for Saturday only or staying overnight for Sunday also.
