MSSF Spring King/Morel Foray #1
Who: Members Only
Where: Stanislaus National Forest (2018 burn zone)
When: Friday May 3rd - Sunday May 5th
Cost: Free
MSSF base of operations will be a meadow with ample parking and lots of grassy areas for tents.
(No water and only one pit toilet available, nearest motel is $300.00 and 1 hour away). (There is a creek nearby).
Pot luck dinner on Saturday night, bring firewood or find in forest.
Guided and self guided forays on Saturday and Sunday.
Mushroom Collecting Permits are required in the National Forests, (You will be responsible for obtaining your own permit).
Register for the foray, each person attending must be listed, no guests, members only, pets ok. (NOTE: Make sure to add other attendees to your registration before you complete it, you can't go back).
(Once registered, you will receive e-mail updates with detailed directions and additional information as the foray date approaches). (Info will be sent out on approximately 28 April).
NOTE: This is a foray weekend with bare bones facilities, you must bring everything you need with you. (Water, tables, toilet paper, tents, pads, tarps, sleeping bags, chairs, firewood, food, cooking equipment, lights, bug spray, sunscreen, mushroom hunting gear, (sleep in car), etc. etc. etc.), I strongly recommend you obtain a Stanislaus national forest map (on line) if you don't already have one). (If you can not rough it, you do not want to be a participant on this foray). (This foray is not suitable for infants, recommend children be over 10 years of age).
NOTE: This is the first MSSF spring foray of the season, more forays near campgrounds will follow this first foray).
